I've come to realise that the most intimate and fulfilling relationships are those based on sharing rather than listening.  So with that in mind I've decided to share something of myself and also hope to learn something of you.  So I've got three questions for you and also for me: 1.  What's the hardest thing about being you? 2.  What's the easiest/best thing about being you? - Now I'm not really interested in false modesty here so just say whatever comes into your head. 3.  What's the thought that spends more than its fair share of time in your head? I think the hardest thing about being me is balancing the internal and external worlds;

Two people left my work the other day and in their speeches at the morning tea we put on for them both of them wished everyone good luck with their careers.  This really struck me.  It seemed to me when I was receiving similarly platitudinous words of encouragement when finishing school that these would end, well, as soon as we entered 'the real world.'  But it seems it is not so.  I never really realised the constant sojourning that life really is.  I guess I always thought that there would simply be a goal, an end, and you would work to that through school and then arrive.  But alas such is not the case.  There is no permanency.  It is a co

I often find it very interesting to think about what society considers to be the perfect person.  What qualities should people possess in order to not only survive and reproduce but to reach their potential in whatever field they choose? It's interesting to see how things change with time.  For example in our grandparents time, things were much more conservative and, well, old world.  There was a strict heirarchy to life and there were strict do's and don't's.  Consider especially Pride and Prejudice. In Native American culture, the somewhat aloof and dreamy type thinkers were very much revered.  This, however, has almost completely disappe

hmm, i was idly browsing my "neighbours" and found that you're under 2km away from me. windsor, well, that'd make sense. hello from your wooloowin neighbour :)

you've got some interesting interests :nod: psychology, philosophy, music, people, i can agree. some very good music taste (The Whitlams :D did you see them play when they came to The Zoo last November? they were awesome), Ben Folds (i hear he's coming to brisbane in September!)

so i just thought i'd pop over and say hi.
well hey. Wooloowin hey, a nice part of brisbane. i do envy you one thing, two train lines: damn ferny grove line.

I did see the whitlams in november. I think I saw the Thursday night. The one with Kate Miller-Heidke. Not a huge fan of her but really a fantastic night. Ben Folds with TQO I think. I'll certainly be getting my money together for that one.

Have you heard the new Whitlams album? I've not bought it yet but from all reports a top album indeed.
Ha, yeah, plenty of train lines go thru Wooloowin.
I can't remember which night I saw the Whitlams, but Kate wasn't there :no: I'd remember that, as I like the one song I've heard from her. Good luck getting Ben Folds tickets; I hear they're in high demand. Thankfully I've got mine :faint: 4th row from the front, hell yeah :boogie: And yep, he's playing with the Qld Orchestra I do believe. That'll be one good night.
As for Whitlams album :( They played a few songs from it when here in Nov, and I got sent 4 songs off the album via the Whitlams site, but I haven't bought it yet. Just have to get my butt to a CD store and then it is so mine. I have no doubts that it'll be great :D
:heart:
